Another Tribute piece.

This is my cover to the Masters of the Universe Volume 3 #1 he-man.org exclusive cover.

Wow that's a mouthful. Even if it uses the modern designs on the characters, and Skeletor isn't flying the Talon fighter over both He-Man and Teela... This is still a tribute to Alfredo P. Alcala's cover for the record book that came with the vintage Point Dread and the Talon Fighter vehichle/playset for the classic MotU line. This is probably my favorite comic cover I ever did for the He-Man comic run. MVCreations owns this image. You can even still buy this comic from the good folks over at Grahamcrackers Comics. Check it out!

I went nuts looking for this version. You did another cover right? A blue one with Hss, Hordak and Skeletor with Snake HE-Man?

Wow that's awesome. I've never seen that image so big before.

I only buy comics in trade paperback form these days. But I made an exception with Vol 3. Except I got the regular cover not yours.

Now if you'd just post the complete MotU Encyclopedia covers...

Awesome, don't forget Tex did a version too. ;)

@ dracine: That other version was done by Emiliano Santalucia. The series artist. ;) I did a few other .org exclusive covers. One for Snake men #1, one for Vol.3 #8,
And then a backcover (Teela Sorceress) for Vol.2 #2, the colors on the Icons of Evil Trapjaw cover. And the painting on all the encyclopedia covers which leads me to ...tim's question.

@taswcm...tim: I could post that, but it'd be so small you wouldn't be able to make anything out. LOL.
That cover did get released as the Vol.3 #1 Comic Con Variant as a fold out cover to reveal the whole thing. I'm guessing you might still be able to snag that on either ebay or at grahamcrackerscomics.com

@ andrew c.: You're right. ;)

Actually here's the link to grahamcrackers comics:
http://www.grahamcrackers.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=1

And added list of official MotU things I worked on in cronological order:
I colored the He-Man and Skeletor Lithographs (my first He-Man job ever) and it's not up for sale anymore, they must've sold out, but I also colored the Grahamcrackers exclusive Vol.1 #1 cover. Then did the Vol.2 #2 backcover with Teela and the Sorceress, then the colors on IoE TrapJaw cover. Then the #1 Snakemen .org exclusive cover. Then Vol.3 #1, then the Encyclopedia covers where I painted over Emiliano's and Enza's pencils. Then Vol.3 #1 .org exclusive and lastly the Vol.3 #8 .org exclusive.

Correction: I seem to have Vol.3 #1 listed twice up there in that list. I worked on two covers for that comic release. Only the .org exclusive, and the Comic Con(Encyclopedia covers) fold out exclusive.

I love this cover! It's actually the only MOTU comic I still own.

It's funny, it's only been a few years and I'm already thinking "Ahhhh... the good old days."
